An Analysis of the Creator Economy with a focus on the 'Influencer'

Content creators provide many things to the social media sphere. Entertainment, information, analysis, and expertise seem to be some of the most common used avenues for these creators. People, more than ever before, are utilising social media platforms to seek content they enjoy; and these creators are providing it efficiently. They are, in fact, the 'cornerstone' of the creator economy.

However, as the article from the Rolling Stone discusses in detail, most 'influencers' are not receiving their fair share. Notably, content creators typically have to set up multiple streams of revenue. For example, merchandise, subscriptions from viewers, and brand deals provide most of the revenue.
